Welcome to Portsmouth Volleyball Club

The season has come to a close and work is underway to get ready for the new season.  The Ladies 1 will play in National  League Div 1 and will be woking hard to get that promotion they deserved to the super 8's.

Jayne will coach the team and will no doubt have Dave watching over her.

The Ladies 2 will play in Div 3 and work is underway to strengthen this team to ensure they get promoted to Div 2 and not have to play the triangle matches for another season.  A new coach is currently being arranged for the team.

The Men will carry on with the progression they made last season and play in Div 2, with a few new players which will strengthen the squad, high hopes of getting to Div 1.  Jayne will continue to coach them until a new coach is found.

The Juniors are progressing well, winning the under 14 tournament in Ashcombe,  the squad will now enter the Portsmouth Local League and find themselves playing against ladies, this is a good move for the juniors as it will give them match practice and encourage them to attend the regional training.  The coaches are Matt Collins and Nasser Ssemuwembathe.

The sitting squad had a very successful 1st season finishing 4th in the country's Grand Prix series, and Ladies player Emma Wiggs getting selected for the GB Squad and to become Captain, and going to the USA for the World Championships in Oklahoma.  The sitting squad will miss Dave, but we are sure they will continue with the progression under Laurent and will make Dave proud.

We also hope to see Emma playing for GB at the Olympics as well as Martyna Curtis, who has been training hard to become an offical scoreer.

Good luck to both of you
